The Tshiamiso Trust’s response to COVID-19

The Tshiamiso Trust, like the rest of South Africa and much of the world, is experiencing the impact of the corona virus. All the trustees, the members of the interim management team and various service providers are working from home, doing their best to remain safe and protected from infection

A great deal of the work that needs to be done can be done effectively from home, and all that work is continuing. At this point we have not experienced any events that have slowed down the Trust’s preparatory work towards the goal of being able to launch a pilot claims lodgement and processing system in June 2020. However, complications could still arise depending on continuing future impacts of the lockdown and anything that might follow. The claims process does, for example, envisage claimants reporting in person to lodge their claims so their identities can be properly confirmed.

Tshiamiso will continue working as effectively as possible towards the full establishment of the claims process, and will keep claimants and other stakeholders well informed about progress.
